AUC 2017 - the 23rd International AUC Workshop and Symposium

We cordially invite you to AUC 2017, the 23th International Analytical Ultracentrifugation Workshop and Symposium, to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, 23-28 July, 2017, which will be a satellite to the IUPAB/EBSA/BBS/IoP Edinburgh congress, 16 - 20 July 2017 (

The focus of AUC 2017 is on solution studies of biological macromolecules, interacting systems, synthetic polymers, nanoparticles and colloids. Techniques such as analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC), dynamic and static light scattering (DLS, MALLS), small angle X-ray and neutron scattering (SAXS, SANS), NMR, SPR, field flow fractionation (FFF), and calorimetry (ITC, DSC) are featured.

AUC 2017 will open with several workshops, which begin on the afternoon of Sunday 23 July, and end on the afternoon of Tuesday 25 July. These workshops will be given by leading experts in the workshop topics.

A symposium will follow the workshop, starting in the evening of Tuesday 25 July with our keynote lecture and continue until the afternoon of Friday 28 July. The symposium will offer two poster sessions, an exhibitor fair, and roundtable discussions.

AUC 2017 will take place on the Gilmorehill campus of the University of Glasgow ( We will mostly be located in the beautiful Gilbert Scott building. Please visit the accommodations page for more information. The final schedule for workshops, symposium and poster sessions will be posted on this website by 1 June, 2017. Please also visit our sponsors who generously support AUC 2017.

There will be an excursion on Wednesday 26 July (between the Workshop and Symposium). We will travel by coach and ferry to the Isle of Arran where we will visit the brewery, shops, distillery and standing stones. The coach can take only 57 people, so places are limited. Please tick this box if you would like to participate in the excursion. The costs are covered by the registration fee. To join this excursion, please register for the symposium and then visit the Change my Info link in the left bar, and check the excursion checkbox at the bottom of the registration page.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Glasgow this summer!
